| | Ripper was the $37,000 Champion Boar at the 1998 World Pork Expo. He is an extra big framed and long bodied boar, yet big ribbed and heavy structured. He is a raw made boar that has excellent muscle expression down his top with a very thick, muscular rump and a shapely thick centered ham. Long fronted and tall at the top of the shoulder, he is very lean and clean cut in his appearance. A super sound and mobile boar, he also excels in design and balance. He just keeps getting bigger and better. Recent visitors at SGI have marveled at his total bigness a fault free yet very expressively muscled package. His sire St. Bernard has been a top ranked sire for BF and TSI and presently ranks 3rd for BF and 4th for TSI in the May 1998 Duroc Across Herd Sire Summary. Ripper’s Grandsire, Great Dane, has also been a trait leader for BF and TSI. He presently ranks 6th for BF and 8th for TSI. An added benefit is the superior sow productivity with St. Bernard and Great Dane ranking 4th and 1st on MLI in the May 1998 Across Herd Sire Summary. Both St. Bernard and Great Dane have sired numerous Champions at national and state breeding as well as barrow shows. Nathan started the line of great breeding boars followed by Great Dane and St. Bernard. We are confident that Ripper will be the leader of the next generation. A true “Champion”, Ripper combines performance, correctness of structure and extreme muscle mass into a well-balanced, eye appealing and aggressive package. Ripper is doing a tremendous job of siring top performing and prize-winning pigs. In his first crop he sired the Champion Derby Barrows at Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa (Grand Overall) plus the Champion Boar at the National Barrow Show.
